DESCRIPTION: Discovered in early 1900s, by the former ‘Viceroy of India’ Lord Curzon,Kauripass wich is also known as ‘The Curzon Trail’ is very famous among the European & American travelers as an exciting trek destination. As the name suggests Kauripass, where ‘Kauri’ means ‘doorway’, is a Himalayan high mountain pass situated at the western rim of ‘Nanda Devi Sanctuary’ biosphere reserve, in the Garhwal region of Northern India. Further about its discovery, Lord Curzon along with his team reached Kauripass from Ghat by Ramni. Today many trekkers prefer to undertake the trek in the reverse direction. They climb the ridge above Tapovan and reach Galigarh, where the trial coming from Gorson meets. One can also reach kauripass from Auli bugyal through Gorson top and this is the best way to reach Kauripass. The main attraction of Curzon’s trial is a majestic view of the twin peaks of Nanda Devi (7817m), Kamet (7756m) , Dronagiri (7066m), Hathi Parwat (6727m), Ghori parvat (6709m) and so on, with the view of Himalayas 360˚ with the altitude of 4268mts takas 26kms. The Kauripass trek is amongst the best in the Garhwal mountains. This one of the best trial takes you through lush green fields, remote villages and virginforest. The Tali-tal (lake) is a special attraction on the route. During this trek, trekkers gain the expeditious never ending enthusiasm & feeling of huge achievements, in the lap of nature itself. Trek Schedule:
Day 1 Haridwar to Joshimath by Road ( 274km/10hrs )
On this day, we pick you up early in the morning at Haridwar Railway station/Bus stand; from where we drive to Joshimath from Haridwar via Rishikesh and Devprayag. Devprayag is a well-known, holy city which is the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, after this the rivers become the holy Ganga. We Arrive at Joshimath by the evening and check into a hotel to rest. Dinner & overnight stay is our responsibility.
Day 2 Joshimath to Dhak village by Road & Dhak village to Gulling by trek (12km/1h + 6km/4h) After an early breakfast, we all drive to Dhak village, which is the starting point of the trek. The trail is well defined with the meanders along the mountain ridge with a series of steep and gradual ascents. The trail is going a steep climb up on the left side of the mountain ridge. After arriving at Gulling camp. Together we explore the surroundings in the evening. And then at the end of the day, we enjoy or dinner and overnight stay at the campside.
Day 3 Gulling to Tali top by trek (6km/5h)
After breakfast we proceed our trek towards the Tali top from our Gulling Camp side.We leave Gulling campsite by taking the trail which is going through a forest ascending upward via series of scissor-bends. We shall camp in an alpine meadow at the head of the Tali Top. Clear weather will unfold mighty Mount Nanda Devi and mount Doonagiri in front. At last we enjoy our dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Day 4 Tali top to Kauri pass and Back to Tali top (15km/8h)
Early morning after breakfast we proceed our trek to Kauri pass. Here we shall be covering the Lord Curzon Trail.After traversing our way across the snow patch we shall reach the Kuari pass top and enjoy the mesmerising view of the Himalayas. After which we proceed back to our camp and then enjoy our dinner and overnight fun at the Tali campside.
Day 5 Tali top to Auli by trek and then a drive Joshimath (8km/4h + 11km/1h) After breakfast we proceed our trek to Auli. Then we’ll set off for a trekking journey through the meadows or ‘Bugyals’ of Gurson and arrive to Auli. Auli is a famous destination for skiing. We’ll driveto Joshimath andcheck into a hotel to take some rest. Dinner & overnight stay is our responsibility.
Day 6 Joshimath to Haridwar (274km/10h) On this day, in early morning we drive back to Haridwar. As per the strategy we arrive Haridwar by evening. Trek ends with a mosaic of colorful memories which would definitely be unforgettable in a highly positive manner.
